Men, you must buy this machine. Your wives will never ask you to vacuum again. It is light and heavy-duty at the same time. I bought one and my wife loves it and the funny thing is, I do too. I was about to buy this but after reading the reviews it sounds like Dyson sacrificed power and battery longevity for "design." I needed something for walking around the house and doing a good clean (ie, not just a 30 second clean-up). Ended up buying a DeWalt 18 volt, which I really like. And it looks cooler, too. This is what I bought: DEWALT DC515K Heavy Duty 1/2 Gallon 18-Volt Ni-Cad Cordless Wet/Dry Vac. Only complaint: this one is loud as heck!

I bought this vac for our camper. It gets pretty dirty with 2 kids running in and out all day and we needed something to clean the linoleum floors as well as the carpeting. Throw in a 100lb golden retriever that sheds, and you can imagine how cruddy the camper can get. The Power Nozzle does an outstanding job cleaning the carpeting and bare floors. I am amazed at how much dog hair and dust this thing picks up.

The best part? It fits into really small spaces. Ours fits under the bed. I would strongly recommend this vac for someone who has limited storage space and a small residence to keep clean. I wish I had this vac when I was in college. It is perfect for dorm rooms, studio apartments, etc.

Pros:
Everything about how the product works; great suction, easy to clean up (the side door to empty & easily removed filter), good battery life, narrow but not small nozzle to get into tight places, easy handling (power switches, nozzle positioner switch), good "accessories".

Cons:
Pricey, kinda large and a little heavy (not a problem for me, but could be for some), the base seems to be a little bit of an afterthought for such a well thought out hand vac.

All in all, this thing is awesome and I'm seriously considering buying another in spite of the price (my wife and I are always needing it at the same time). But, hey, you get what you pay for in this terrific hand vac.

baja 5b 2 speed beach testing

here is my 26cc hpi baja 5b on wittering beach testing my brcp 2 speed. So I just recharge it as needed. I've used it for both wet and dry pickups, and it's done fine. Also used it successfully to suck up a bug I didn't want to deal with.

This was purchased to replace a very basic hand-held stair vac we've had for ages. At first glance it seems like a no brainer. I will admit the power of this little fellow is quite potent. The brush is pretty good too (unlike our previous no-brand vac) The hose and hidden crevice tool is pretty nifty too. But beyond that, the "coolness" wears off...

Perhaps it's just me, but I find this vacuum very bulky to be used on stairs, and forget about trying to use it in your car. Yes, it does a good job, but being as large as it is and being all plastic (IE no soft bag on the end) makes it that much more difficult to toss around rather small steps.

But here's the real deal killer for me... For some reason, every time I use it I get these horrible cramps in my hand. It's something about the angle the handle's at I think, but I usually end up simply holding it from the rear. I've had my mother try it out and she complained about the same thing so I don't think it's just me. Plus I never, and still don't have any similar problems when using the old vacuum with the simple flat handle.

I don't know... I'd love to say this thing's great, but I just can't. I'd advise looking into other brands and models before perusing this one.

This little Bissell is fantastic. I would have given it 5 stars if they had a way to wind the cord. Has a rubber piece for getting up pet hair (even those little stiff ones) that is better than any thing I have ever used. I was amazed (and disgusted!) at the amount of hair in it. Very light, easy to empty, long cord, and LOTS of suction power. Quite noisy. Love that there is no charger to lose, will put up with a dangling cord.

I absolutely love this little gem. The vacuum is lightweight and easy to handle, with great heavy-duty suction. Being bagless is another added plus. I know that some people mentioned the filter was hard to clean but I solved that by using and old toothbrush for this job and it cleans up as good as new. One of the many highlights of this vacuum is the effortless flick of a switch changes from carpeted to bare floors. I hadn't realized just how bad the suction was on my old Regina Stick Vacuum until I used the Hoover. I was amazed at how much dirt and dust was sucked up the first time I used it. All in all I have to say this was one of my best purchases. It could have a longer cord, that is the only thing I would want to change about this vacuum.
